What is Arrosticini?

One of the most popular recipes of the Abruzzo region in central Italy is arrosticini. These tender skewers are made from lamb and prepared on a grill. With an arrosticini grill from Hitek Milan, your arrosticini will be cooked to succulent perfection every time.

Preparation

The meat is cut in chunks that are pierced with a skewer. This tradition has spread far and wide, not only because of its great delicacy but also the fact that it is easy to prepare and a perfect complement for outdoor events. The meat skewers are cooked best on an arrosticini grill. For best results, the arrosticini grill delivers optimum, evenly dispersed temperatures that cook the meat skewers perfectly every time.

Types of arrosticini

There are two main types of arrosticini; those prepared industrially and the ones made by hand. The industrially prepared arrosticini consist of cubical chunks of meat with standard dimensions, while hand prepared pieces come in non-standard user-designed sizes. The preparation process often involves coating the pieces of arrosticini with ovine fat to provide more tenderness and a pleasant aroma. Due to the fact that it takes quite some time to master the preparation of arrosticini, obtaining both high quality meat as well as cooking equipment gives grill enthusiasts the best results.

Accompaniments

While arrosticini can be combined with a varied number of accompaniments, the most popular combination is with slices of homemade bread or flatbread immersed in extra-virgin olive oil, mixed to taste with pepperoncino or other spices.

Traditionally, arrosticini can be eaten with bare hands or by removing the lamb pieces from the skewer with teeth. Alternatively, the lamb pieces can be portioned directly into the accompanying bread or flatbread. At Hitek Milan, we give you the opportunity to take part in this mouth-watering delicacy right here in Canada with our top of the line grills.

Mmm lamb! It is my fav, but the hardest to get just right. This sounds delicious.
