Spiducci Thanksgiving Recipes and Ideas

Hosting Thanksgiving this year? Pro tip: incorporate your Spiducci grill for a fun twist on autumnal classics. Here are some ideas to get you started. With the summer over and cold weather approaching fast, every grill master out there is itching to take their Spiducci out for one last spin. Sounds like you? Check out our tips for autumnal grilling!

From Summer to Fall

Grilling on your Spiducci is great in the summer months, but can also transition into the fall. The taste of juicy meat skewers fresh off the grill can be savored year round. Update your grilling recipes by incorporating seasonal veggies. Pumpkin and squash are in season this time of year, and available at your local farmer’s market. Adding autumnal colours like red, orange, and yellow to your dishes will put your family in the Thanksgiving spirit.

Grilling Outside the Box

Adding vegetables to your meat skewers is a creative and healthy way to amp up your grill mastery. Line each morsel of succulent meat with a slice of veggie to enhance textures and add new flavours. Any chef will tell you: people first eat with their eyes! Add a pop of colour to every Spiducci skewer with peppers and roots for a big flavour and bold colour.

The Panache of Pumpkin and Squash

Have you tried grilled pumpkin? This fall treat is rich with earthy notes and pairs exceptionally well with succulent Spiducci.

  • Remove the skin, seeds, and stringy parts of your pumpkin or squash.
  • Cut the flesh into cubes of appropriate size for your Spiducci skewers.
  • Lightly toss the cubes in a mixture of olive oil, rosemary, salt and pepper to taste. (Pro tip: use sunflower seed oil instead of olive oil for enhanced nutty flavour.) Make sure to coat all sides.
  • Grill evenly on all sides until tender.

Alternatively, you can also use pattypan squash. This tiny, bite-sized squash variety has a mellow flavour and a big crunch.

Sweet Pepper Perfection

Add sweet peppers to your skewers of meat next time you’re grilling. Grilled peppers deliver a punch of flavour and come in great autumnal colours such as red, orange, green, and yellow.

Mushroom Mastery

Mushrooms are perfect for skewering. When grilled, they enhance any Spiducci recipe with pronounced aroma and umami. Fall means that fresh mushrooms are readily available at your local farmer’s market, so be sure to take advantage of this magical time of year.

  • Skewer each mushroom in between a cut of meat. You can choose to leave the stems on or off, it’s all up to you.
  • Want to add some zing? Coat the mushrooms in a mixture of butter and garlic prior to grilling.

You Can’t Beat a Beet

Contrary to popular belief, beets are magical on the grill. The heat from your Spiducci will bring out sweet and smoky flavours from the exceptional beetroot. Most people are familiar with red beets, however they also come in a yellow variety. Sprinkle freshly chopped herbs, garden greens, or pomegranate seeds on top for enhanced taste and presentation.

Can you post an article like this for winter too? I want holiday tips, pls, thanks :)
