Types of Materials Used to Manufacture Food Trolleys

A food trolley is a type of equipment commonly used in food production, transportation and handling. Operations or processes such as these are very sensitive and require durable equipment.

Food trolleys come in various sizes, styles, and materials.

If you are looking to purchase a food trolley, whether for business or personal use, here is a guide that will help in your selection process.

Aluminum - Well-known as a lightweight, malleable and durable material that offers rust resistance, aluminum is commonly used in the structure of food trolleys. When aluminum is well polished, it also offers excellent scratch resistance and helps keep your food free from material contamination.

Stainless Steel - This material features a smooth finish. It is also easy to clean. Stainless steel is considered an alternative to aluminum because it is best known for its affordability and ability to endure high temperatures and pressure. High-density stainless steel sheets and rods are also known to confer high tensile strength.

Glass - This material is best known for its transparency to allow people to see the food you are transporting. It offers an aesthetic appeal, although it might not be your first choice if you need a lot of protection.

Perspex and Acrylic - Although these materials are not considered an alternative to glass, they are more stable and durable. It has better tensile strength and is capable of retaining high heat as well as vibrations. This makes it an excellent material for a strong and dependable food trolley.

At Hitek Milan, we have created the HTM-1000 stainless steel frame food trolley. Our research has shown us that stainless steel is the most durable material, and we have designed the HTM-1000 to easily and reliably transport a number of pre-loaded trays. It has raised bumps to hold trays in place, and swivel wheels with brakes that roll smoothly and brake securely for efficiency and safety. For more information, contact us today at 905-671-1677!

I stand behind the HTM-1000 food trolley! It's been able to handle all the baked goods I've been using it for - which is a LOT!
